Finally!! A scrapbook page...

...and this is one that I started at Hollies...and really, really did not like where it was going!I scrap in 12 x12 but have problems with one picture layouts! I rearranged, added, subtracted and well... this one is done and saved as is...for what it is worth! The journaling is not finished.

I used the Prestwick Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up which I got because it includes wonderful BV colors! However, it was perfect for this CUBS page. If you click on the picture it will give you a larger view to show you the pinstripe detail on the designer paper.

Thanks for looking!

Stampin' Up: Prestwick Designer Series Paper, Red and Night of Navy cardstock, My Way Punch, Circle Punches, Words: Cricut Disney Cartridge of some sort:)

I love clean stamps!

Okay, most of you know that I LOVE clean stamps. I love clean stamps for several reasons -

  • Cleaning your stamps keeps ink from building up in the rubber lines thus keeping the images crisp
  • No leftover ink on your stamp - If use a stamp previously inked and stamped with blue and then go to stamp with yellow your image will be "yucky" not a crisp wonderful yellow
  • A clean stamp does not put gross inky stuff on my versamark pad - If you want to keep your versamark pad clear for good clear watermark images - clean your stamps.
Basically, I like crisp, clean, clear images when I stamp - thus I clean my stamps.

To clean my stamps, I use a Stampin' Scrub from SU with the Stampin' Mist. I spray one side of the scrub "Wet Side" and keep one side dry to "dry" off the stamp after it is cleaned.

Now, since I clean my stamps regularly my Stampin' Scrub gets dirty! I have had several questions on how to clean the stampin' scrub and decided to try to upload a how-to video instead of pictures. So for what it is worth --- here it is!

Sooooo - um - yes - my scrub is usually MUCH dirtier than it was in this video (I wonder if I had already cleaned it:)...scratching my head! And, I guess I used a little more than a "dab" of soap! That is basically what the words at the end of the video say...Oh well, you get the idea!

ETA: Although I have been cleaning my pads like this for years, one of my wonderful customers broke the hinge on her pad when she was "wacking"! Wack softly and hold firmly - or - just sop up water with towels.:)

Hope this helps someone!

Happy Birthday

These two cards are using the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set included in the 20% off October Birthday Promotion. See the link under SU specials in the column to the right----->

The first card is a simple - no matting - straight forward card using an easy to do simple layout with no embellishments. I just stamped the image and colored it with markers.

Stamps: Crazy For Cupcakes
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Pretty In Pink DSP (old)
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Jet Black StazOn,

The next card uses the same image except this time I stamped the image and watercolored it using the ink pads and aqua painter. The frosting is covered with versamark using the pen and then embosssed with white embossing powder. Then I matted the image, layered the patterned paper and used a ribbon embellishment. I also used the Polka Dot background stamp on the card stock base.

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Pink Piourquette, Bella Rose DSP
Ink: VersaMark, Riding Hood Red, Pretty In Pink, Chocolate Chip, Jet Black StazOn,

Fresh Cut Note Cards

The two cards above use the Fresh Cut Notes found on page 167 of the Fall/Winter 2008 SU Idea Book. The flower is die cut into the prescored notecards.

The top one has a stamped piece of Whisper White mounted on the inside cover to show through the die cut flower.

One the second card, I traced the die cut flower on a piece of olive cardstock and then cut out the flower with my craft knife...okay, no groaning! Several people have said to me "No way could I do that!" Well, in all honesty, I really did not even think about it as being hard - I just did it!

Stamps: Fresh Cuts
Paper: Fresh Cuts Notes, Old Olive
Ink: Chocolate Chip, VersaMark
Accessories: Olive Brad, Chocolate Chip Ribbon, Craft Knife
