Spooky Bear Pumpkin

This card was one we made at the Holiday Mini Catalog event I hosted with several other demonstrators. The card was designed by a fellow demo and features the Stampin’ Up Exclusive Build-a-Bear Sizzix dies found on pages 34-37 in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

This was the first time I used the Sizzix dies in the Big Shot and was not a perfect student. But, I do think it turned out cute!

Stamps: Beary Nice Wishes (sentiment inside)

Paper: Night and Day Designer Series Paper,
Basic Black, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip Cardstock

Autumn Harvest Pheasant

Male cards are hard to make…but when I saw the Autumn Harvest set with a pheasant, I knew it was mine. It was perfect for “my” hunter males!

Ink and Paper Try-its

  • Ink the pheasant using the markers – Old Olive, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie and Really Rust.
  • The pretty bird was layered on Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive cardstock.
  • Soft Suede is the card base and it was stamped with the wheat stamp using VersaMark.Ink for a subtle background
  • I used Stampin’ Pastels to create the colored leafs (see tutorial below) on the Crushed Curry piece .

To make the crushed curry leaf piece

1. Stamp the leaf using VersaMark.

2. Using Qtips, brush the leaves with Old Olive, Really Rust and Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Pastels.

3. After the pastels are applied, I sponged the edges using Soft Suede ink.

The Big Shot Has Entered My Life

I know I am kinda slow on the uptake here but I kept thinking I didn’t need the Sizzix Big Shot that SU !sells. However, I kept seeing the fabulous texture on cards all over…they just popped out at me! So, enter the Big Shot into my life!

See that Crushed Curry (2009-2010 In- Color) piece at the top…that wonderful swirly texture was done with a texture plate from the SU Backgrounds 1 set!

Ink and Paper Try-its

  • To get a mult-colored image, Ink your stamping using the brush tip of your marker. For the main image above, I used Real Red, Crushed Curry and Tempting Turquoise.
  • For a different look, tie your bow sideways. The bow above was tied using the Basic Black 5/8 inch Grosgrain.
  • If you every have questions about any project here, please do not hesitate to email me.

A Card For You…

…for being patient with me as I was figuring out the direction of my blog and Stampin’ Up business. There were several things I needed to dig through and now…I am back! Thanks so much for hanging in there!

This card features the new In-Color Rich Razzleberry. Although I really, really like all of this years In-Colors – this is at the top of the list.

I used the Wings of  Friendship Level 2Hostess Set with Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White.

Some Ink and Paper Try-its -

  • Ink just part of the stamp by holding the stamp and ink pad to see where you are inking – like the right flourish-flower on the main image above
  • See that butterfly – that is just two hearts punched using the Heart to Heart Punch and connected with a Slit Punch piece dotted using the Signo White Gel Pen
